OKAY SO.

I bet you guys were wondering "why no art?" Um...behold the reason why XD

This image originally started innocently enough. A simple back-to-back of Ashi in her Birth by Sleep and Kingdom Hearts I incarnations. And as you can see, it quickly spiraled out of control into something that nearly killed me XD

WAS IT WORTH IT? TTLY. *fist pump*

I did a lot of things I don't do normally. I actually shaded from the BOTTOM, something I haven't done since my figure drawing class I took forever ago. And even THEN it wasn't as dramatic as this! I also did the shades with a slight purple tone, to go with the light source, hence why the gold on the back of BBS!Ashi's butt-tail things are more pinky towards the top, and why her skin is kind of pink-like.

I also spent more time drawing those flowers then the actual picture. XD I haven't done still life in forever, and it was always with references; but for the lilies, I completely free-handed it. I'm amazed at how much they actually look like lilies, especially without anything to go by! *_*

And I spent even MORE time on the Station of Awakening behind her. I'll be posting that (and my rambling) for it in a moment.

The flowers below Ashi are "her" flowers, but they're actually called Shadow Lilies. They only bloom in the darkness, and when they do, they release a soft purple light and strange violet specks of light. They're kind of as enigmatic as her; no one knows where they come from or how they grow, but they grow fine on their own, and always have a connection to her. Why is a mystery ;D

And yes, her BBS incarnation is taller then her KH1. And no, I won't tell you why she can exist in Birth by Sleep AND KH1, and be younger in KH1. Some of might be able to guess it, or part of it XD

Over all, I can't think of anything I don't like about this. I REALLY am glad that I pushed myself with this to make it awesome and more epic then originally planned, because it was SO worth the effort <3.

BTW: I consider "Rose of May/Loss of Me" from FFIX to be one of Ashi's themes; specifically of her BBS incarnation ^_^
