MSP 2013 - Round 1 Example

My round 1 example for next year's ! This time, I'm using Sagittarius. I know people voted highest for Aquarius, but she's...not very interesting TBH Sagi and Gemini were tied, but I don't want to scare people off with Gemini so Sagi it is!

Please take a moment to introduce yourself to us.

Sagittarius. Oh...you mean my name? I don't have one of those...at least, not anymore. It's been so long since I've been called anything but Sagittarius that I honestly don't remember. Hmm...well, I did choose a name for myself when I came to Earth. Robyn Blackwood. I'm not quite sure how old I am, but I think I was around 18 or so when I became Sagittarius. All I know is that I've been alive for a...very, very long time. So long that I don't remember when or how it happened, or my life before. I've always been Sagittarius, and I'm okay with that. It's my calling and my duty.

Tell us something that will help us remember you.

Well...I've never had anyone ask me that before. I'm just so used to hiding and lurking in the shadows I've never really thought about it...hmm. Probably the closest thing would be that I am third in line for the leader of the Zodiac, after Cancer and Leo. When those two were reborn during the Silver Millennium, I rounded up and kept the non-reborn Zodiac in line. I don't like leading, but it is apart of my mission and I accept it readily and willingly.

Describe your typical day.

Wow, seriously? God you guys have no concept of duty, do you? All I have is my duty, even here on Earth. I wake up, I investigate these strange "shadow wraiths," and keep an eye on my Princess without her knowing about it. Sometimes I go and practice my archery, but that is so my skills a honed so I may continue to protect Lady Jupiter from any unseen threats. What else is there for me to do?

What makes you happy and what makes you scared?

Being in forests or natural areas bring me peace. The thick forests of Jupiter - hidden under the storm clouds, of course - have been my home for longer then I can remember. Cities bother me a lot - especially Tokyo. Ugh, why did my Princess have to be reborn here?

As for what I fear...I fear failing in my mission again. I could have done something to protect my lady from being killed during the Silver Millennium, yet I did not. I will not fail her again.

What do you find most challenging about being a Senshi?

Trying to keep order within our team. As one of the leaders, it is my duty to ensure that we all get along, all have the same goals...and make sure we don't kill each other in the process. It is not always an easy task, what with our varying personalities, inflamed egos or mental disorders...yeah, it gets to be quite a challenge sometime. Which is why I'm glad I'm not the main leader, thank Zeus. Otherwise, I'm sure I would have gone mad by now!

Who is your role model and how do they inspire you?

Although I adore my Princess immensely and I both live and die for her, my role model is a bit...unexpected, I guess.

Since arriving on Earth, I began to read up on the culture so I would "blend in," as it were. My fellow non-reborn Zodiac spread across the globe, investigating the strange occurrences and keeping various enemies at bay while our Princesses awoke and fought in Japan. I ended up in England, and became quite enamored with the folklore of a man named Robin Hood. He was a skilled archer, such as myself, and stole from the rich and gave back to the poor. He fought for his ideals, even though it would have been easier not to. I wish to be as noble and strong as he, hence why I chose the name Robyn once I became more blended in with the modern world.

What would be the name of your autobiography?

What is it with these asinine questions? *sighs* Really, I don't like the idea of the attention that an autobiography would generate, but if I had to choose...perhaps "Lady of the Forest" or "The Hidden Hunter." I'm terrible at picking names for things.

Do you believe in fate/destiny, or do you believe you write your own story?

Completely. It was my fate to be chosen to become Sailor Sagittarius, and my destiny to secretly watch over and protect the Royal Line of Jupiter. I accept this duty and honor without question or doubt. If I had not taken this position, I would never have had the chance to find peace and purpose, and doing something truly remarkable. I would not give it up for a moment.

Do you have other teammates? What are they like? If not, do you wish you had some?

Being a Zodiac, I have 11 other teammates. We rarely met in the past, usually only during the birth of a new Serenity or when we faced a particularly powerful enemy and needed assistance. Several of the others did leave their posts to interact with the others, but I rarely did. Still, although they can be a...colorful bunch, to put it lightly...I am fond of them. I respect Cancer as our leader greatly, as well as Scorpio, Aquarius, Virgo and Libra. Even though she is...no longer the woman she once was, I still find Gemini to be remarkable and wish she could get the help she so sorely needs.

But I'm...not entirely sure what is going on in Leo's head right now. I must watch her more closely...

What do you hope to accomplish by competing in this pageant?

Honestly? Nothing. It's not even my idea that I'm here. Let's just say I lost a rather...embarrassing bet and it was either this or doing "dirty dancing" with Scorpio later...*coughs* Thankfully I'm not truly competing, otherwise I'd be a bit more uneasy with this process. I hate being the center of attention.

Do you have anyone special cheering for you? Would you like to give them a shout out?

Uh...I'm...not sure? I guess my fellow Zodiac would but...I don't think they're "special." Maybe Lady Jupiter...?

Another image that got away from me...Was originally just going to be a really simple image of Sagittarius chillin' with her bow, then I decided to make a rock then added some water-colored tree-ish things...and then it kind of escalated from there. Still, I really love how it turned out! I love, love, LOVE The rock I made, especially with the moss! I was so boring without it, so I added it just to see. I did the whole background in SAI too, save for some effects in photoshop + the light beams.

Also, you may notice Sagi has a...different fuku then you usually see the girls in. This is actually their "base" fuku, similar to the basic fuku the Sol Senshi have at the beginning. However, the Zodiac haven't had these forms for many centuries, and even those who were reborn still were reborn in their current form. Their current form (which is unnamed ) is their "mid" form, between this and their Ascended form. However, it's on-par strength wise with the Eternal form instead of the Super form. Although they haven't been in this base form in a long while, I felt like drawing it just to show you guys

Where does she get her arrows from? The same place Sailor Moon keeps her various rods
